BlackBerry Storm 2 details

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is a phone that really means business, packing in everything from HSDPA support for fast downloads, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a 3.2-inch capactive touchscreen.

All BlackBerry mobile phones all hard-working handset that excel at email on the go. The BlackBerry Storm 2 is no exception. Push email support means that all your messages are sent directly to your phone, so you can respond to anything important straight away.

Just as handy is the full slide out QWERTY keyboard. This makes it as easy to compose emails as it is when you’re working on your PC at home or in your office and banishes the frustration of using a fiddly keypad forever.

However, for everything other than typing you’re free to use the brilliant capactive touchscreen that makes the Storm 2 possibly the most simple and pleasing to use BlackBerry mobile phones ever.

The Storm 2 is also home to a 3.2 megapixel camera with a 2X digital zoom. And to help you get the best images possibly, the camera is equipped with auto focus, an image stabilizer, and LED flash.

Other features of this superb phone include 2GB of built-in memory, a media player, 3.5mm headphone jack, A-GPS support and expandable memory via microSD cards. Users can expect talk time of 5.5 hours and battery life of up to 270 hours when the handset is in standby mode.

More on the BlackBerry Storm 2

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is only the second ever touchscreen operated BlackBerry, marking the continuation in a radical departure from the range's trademark trackball user interfaces.

As well as the stellar feature range outlined above, the Storm 2 also offers hands-free control, password protection and quad band support, so that the handset can be used with mobile phone networks all over the globe.

This is a great phone with many excellent features but is let down by: 1. The camera - is only 3.2 m pixels and there is an excessive delay between pressing the shutter release button and the photo actually being taken.

  1. The voice recognition dialling feature (necessary for hands free operation whilst driving)- does not recognise my voice at all (unlike my old Nokia N95) - e.g. i ask it to dial "Bev" amd it asks if i said "Maria".... This is frustrating (and potentially embarrasing !!)

  2. The above problem means that if you wish to dial whilst driving you must first acces the contacts folder. At this point the you've probably been using the (excellent) "Find & Go" sat-nav application with the handset mounted horizontally on the dash / windscreen. To access contacts you must first swith applications and when finally reached , the contacts will only display as though the phone was vertially mounted! Very frustrating! Overall, i would reccommend it but can't help feeling Blackberry have "spoilt the barrel for a h'peth of tar"

This phone looks good & has super good features but the battery rarely lasts more than a day & the touch screen feature can be really unreliable.

This is a great smartphone that does everything I want, the keyboard could be more responsive - I often find that I can't type as fast as I want to for emails but apart from that it's great!
