BlackBerry Priv Android handset confirmed
And it'll be out this year.
The first-ever BlackBerry 10 phone is the kind of debut that dreams are made of. Not only does it feature an all-new version of BlackBerry Messenger with video calling, a super fast browser and tons of brilliant apps to choose from. You also get a fantastic camera, a touchscreen keyboard that's been called the best around and a crisp white finish too.
Socialising is at the heart of the BlackBerry Z10. And nowhere is that more evident than in the brilliant BlackBerry Hub, which gathers all your social media updates, instant messaging conversations, texts and mails in one place to make it easy to stay in the loop. You can even check in on incoming messages with a single swipe and dip in – and out – of conversations just as fast.
This terrific smartphone’s peerless social credentials don’t end there. That’s because not only is the new browser that you’ll find on the BlackBerry Z10 faster than ever, it’s also equipped with a built-in function that lets you share links with friends with just a couple of gestures.
And there’s more. Because BlackBerry knows that socialising and work are often best kept separate, there’s the option to keep all your work emails and documents apart by setting up two handset profiles. Need to flip between them? No problem. Once again, you can do it in one quick motion.
We think you’ll love the Z10’s display too. Coming in at 4.2-inches and with 1280 x 720 (720p HD) resolution and 356 pixels-per-inch image density, it’s a touchscreen to be reckoned with. Crystal clear images and rapid responses to onscreen commands come as standard, naturally.
Superlative typing and messaging has always been part of what makes BlackBerry phones tick. That’s even more the case with the Z10, which is home to a totally redesigned keyboard that’s more responsive than ever before and even learns your writing style and suggests words you may want to input and subtly corrects your typos.
Just as impressive is the eight-megapixel camera with autofocus, 5x digital zoom, 1080p HD video recording. But perhaps the real star is the Time Shift mode. Switch this on and you’ll automatically capture an image before and after you take your photo. You can then go backwards or forwards through your mage trove and choose the best snap.
And if you’re still not happy, you can even combine your friends’ facial expressions from different photos into one image. The result? You’ll never again have a photo ruined by unfortunate blinks when the flash goes off.
Other features of the BlackBerry Z10 take in a powerful dual core 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, micro SD slot (up to 32GB), a two-megapixel front-facing camera and BlackBerry Maps mapping software with assisted GPS for easy route-finding.
