Great looks, some key faults

As most people, on receiving the HTC One S I was ecstatic. Such a slick and beautiful phone and the screen is fantastic! Unfortunately it just went down from here. Within a few days we noticed that the reception was very poor even compared to swapping the same sim out to another phone. It is so poor that you can hear the difference in the bad line when making or receiving a call and this only when there is enough reception to make at least one signal bar... It should be said that by reading some blogs with other users having the same problem we found that by switching the 3G off, the reception significantly improves…

The phone was eventually returned and a new one send out. Same problems. :’( I decided to leave it like this with my work-around (turning off the 3G when not required) for a few months to see if an update comes out and the situation improves. Then a new problem emerged.

Started noticing the screen jumping (on it’s own) to the home (multiple screen a.k.a helicopter view) and back as if the home button is being pressed. This got worse and worse and is now at the point where we cannot use the phone as it almost constantly jumps around.

Off course I have been in contact with HTC about this and the problem is still outstanding, they have suggested; we reboot the phone, we clear the cache, reset to factory, and asked a multitude of question, but to no avail. Problem still persist with no fix in sight. :'(

HTC One S details

The HTC One S packs an amazing amount into its unibody frame. Not least a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an incredible camera and a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen fashioned from robust Gorilla Glass. And with Beats by Dre audio technology on board, it's got music covered too.

Happy snapper? You will be if you choose the HTC One S. With an eight megapixel snapper on board, complete with autofocus, smart LED flash, HTC ImageChip and BSI sensor for better results in low-light conditions, even less able photographers can expect great results.

And there's more. Also packed into the One S's incredibly sleek 7.8mm frame is Beats by Dre audio technology. That means that you'll enjoy staggeringly crisp sound quality that adds a new dimension to your favourite tunes.

Coupled with the massive 4.3-inch qHD display, built-in web browser and media player, this means the One S is fantastic for entertainment. And because this is an Android phone running an up to the minute version of Google's amazing operating system, there's no shortage of apps, movies and games to choose from too. Just head to the Android Market and you'll be able to take your pick from tens of thousands of terrific titles.

To allow you to really make the One S yours, HTC has given you tonnes of customisation options too. Not only can you ensure all your most-used apps are right where you want them, you can also set your phone ready to give you stock info, weather updates and more, even when it's in screen lock mode.

Other features of this steller smartphone include built-in Google apps such as Facebook and YouTube, 16GB of available capacity for all your files, access to a dropbox account for wireless storage and a digital compass, A-GPS and Google Maps for easy route-finding.
