Motorola Milestone details

As its name suggests, the Milestone is a truly landmark mobile phone, packing in everything from a five megapixel camera, great built-in Google applications and a massive 3.2-inch touchscreen.

The US version of the Milestone has been one of the biggest selling Android mobile phones so far. And with its dizzying array of functions, multi-touch user interface, smart looks and massive processing power, it’s not hard to see why.

Thanks to 3G support, the Milestone’s 550MHz processor and Google browser, users enjoy a mobile internet experience that’s as seamless and satisfying as can be. Meanwhile, the handy physical QWERTY keypad makes composing length emails a breeze.

Just as impressive are the Milestone’s imaging capabilities. The excellent five megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash delivers terrific snaps. And it excels at video, too, recording DVD quality footage at 24 frames per second.

As with all Android mobile phones, the Milestone comes with a host of great Google applications pre-installed, including Facebook, gmail and GoogleVoice. And there’s a special YouTube app too, so you can access thousands of videos while you’re on the go.

Other features of this standout mobile include push email with a document viewer, geo-tagging for photos, a media player, 3.5mm headphone jack, speakerphone with stereo speakers, downloadable games and Bluetooth support.

The Milestone is equipped with 8GB of memory with scope to boost this by 32GB by adding a microSD card.

More on the Motorola Milestone

Touted as an iPhone killer, the Motorola Milestone is one of the key reasons for Android phones making the transition from popularity with early adopters to handsets with mass market appeal.

Sales in the US, where the Milestone is known as the Motorola Droid, bear this out. Within a matter of weeks of its release it had sold a hugely impressive 800,000 units.

As well as great built-in apps, Milestone owners benefit from a massive range of free and paid-for software available at the Android Market, including great games as well as a host of more practical apps.

I recieved this phone from another retailer only 2 days after the order. I was suprised by the speed, but the delivery charge at 5 pounds wasn't very attractive.

This phone is great and just a great phone for social networking and things like that. Texting is a breeze now. I can type 2 full texts in like 5 seconds. It's just too easy.
