Nokia 5800 XpressMusic details
Nokia’s challenger to the iPhone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a full functioned media device which employs a modish touchscreen and tactile feedback to give a hugely pleasing user experience.
Known variously as the Nokia 5800 Tube and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, this handset is a highly sought after device that matches the iPhone in every department.
Operation of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is via an intuitive touchscreen that makes accessing its array of features a breeze. Among the standout functions of this phone are a 3.2 inch, rich colour display and HSDPA connectivity to make surfing the web easy and downloading a fast and pleasurable experience.
Also onboard is a TV-out port so you can view pictures taken with the phone’s top quality 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, support for geo-tagging of photographs and a fantastic media player to keep you entertained while on the move and a GPS receiver.
Onboard memory is 140MB to allow plenty of storage space for files. This can be boosted further, however, by adding a microSD card.
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is quad-band so can be used with mobile phone networks all over the globe.
More on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic was one of the most anticipated mobile phone releases ever. Prior to its release speculation was rampant on messageboards and mobile phone sites, as to the specifications of the device and whether it would mount a serious challenge to iPhone. And when the phone did finally become available in January 2009, it was met with massive crowds outside Nokia’s flagship store in London’s Regent Street.
The phone is one of Nokia’s first-ever entries into the touchscreen arena and has been the subject of great reviews from respected mobile phone journals. Coming in for particular praise was the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic’s generous memory and array of control options. Meanwhile, Mobile Choice magazine awarded it a maximum five stars.
Intended to rival Sony Ericsson’s Walkman series of handsets, all of Nokia’s XpressMusic phones boast excellent stereo sound and the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic's appeal to a youthful audience was boosted by cameo appearances in The Dark Knight movie, Britney Spears’ Womanizer video and the promo for Cristina Aguilera’s Keeps Gettin’ Better.
