Nokia's Lumia 1520 is a lot of firsts for both the Finish mobile phone manufacturer and also Microsoft: the maker of its operating system, Windows Phone 8.
It is the first phablet by Nokia, which is the term for a cross between a phone and a tablet.
This is with a stunning 6-inch IPS LCD screen, which is the largest display found running WP8.
This is also a full high definition display, another first for both companies, offering a great picture; ideal for viewing shots captured by its great 20-megapixel camera (another first, for Windows Phone).
It has a similar set of features found in Nokia's 41-megapixel Lumia 1020 handset, with a whole range of apps that are geared up for photography – from the amateur to the expert.
And just if that wasn't enough, it is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm CPU. Yep, you've guessed it, this is the first time a Microsoft OS run mobile has featured such a powerful processor - and all in 4G device.
There is a whopping 32GB storage capacity on the 1520, with access to 7GB of SkyDrive ‘cloud’ storage; pics and vids can be automatically uploaded here, so you’ll never lose them.
This operating system has the familiar Internet Explorer, used by many, plus it has free access to millions of music tracks, care of Nokia Music.
Not forgetting the offline HERE maps, which works in the same way as a Sat Nav, and it has all the Microsoft Office apps: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote – in their mobile versions.
There is also the introduction of a third row of icons on the home screen, which can show up to the minute info, such as news, emails, notifications and much much more.
If you a looking for an easy to use, large screen mobile phone, look no further than the Nokia Lumia 1520.
