Nokia N79 details
The Nokia N79 is a smartphone of enormous power and crams a huge array of features into a lightweight handset. And the traditional form factor and excellent user interface make it brilliantly easy to use, too.
Weighing in at just 100g, the N79 is one of the lightest handsets in Nseries range ever. However, despite its slim dimensions, Nokia has still found room for a large 2.4 inch screen. And contrary to expectations for a lightweight phone, the N79 is far from light on features.
Among these is the superb five megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss optics & Tessar lens, which delivers superb quality still images and video clips. A secondary camera is provided for 3G video calling.
Entertainment comes in the form of a great music player, which is compatible with all major file formats and an FM radio, so you can catch up with all the latest music and news while you are on the move. Games are also built in for whiling away those idle moments.
Thanks to HSDPA connectivity, owners of the Nokia N79 can enjoy fast downloads at up to 3.6Mb. Meanwhile, the inclusion of a 4GB memory card means that there is plenty of storage space for all the songs, photos and video clips you want to store on the handset.
Other features include integrated GPS with Nokia Maps, integrated stereo speakers, enhanced voice dialling, integrated hands-free speakerphone, voice recorder, a web browser and a range of communication options including SMS, e-mail and MMS.
More on the Nokia N79
The N79 is part of Nokia’s range of Nseries mobile phones, which are among the most advanced and powerful handsets on the market. That’s due in no small part to the Symbian operating system it employs, which is more in keeping with a computer than a mobile phone.
Although the Nokia N79 has found fans almost everywhere, it has been shown to have particular appeal to sports enthusiasts. The attraction is the built-in A-GPS which combines with Nokia’s Sport Tracker software to allow users to create and map exercise routes. Better yet, it can even be used for uploading your performances online.
