Nokia N8 details
Nokia has pulled out all the stops with the N8 - clearly the greatest Nokia Nseries phone yet. With a 12 megapixel camera incorporating HD video, slick touchscreen user interface and super-fast processor, it's an industry-leading smartphone with amazing power.
The N8 excels at so much it’s hard to know where to start. But among its range of stellar attributes are its incredible imaging capabilities. This is due in no small part to the terrific 12 megapixel camera teams a Carl Zeiss lens with a Xenon flash to help you capture some truly outstanding snaps.
And video recording on the N8 is every bit as impressive, with HD quality pictures and Dolby Digital surround sound adding a sheen of professionalism to even the most rudimentary mini movie.
Entertainment is another of the N8’s strong suits. Videos played on its onboard media player look fantastic on its expansive, richly colourful 3.5-inch display and there’s a great web browser too. Plus to keep you occupied on even the longest journey, the N8 is capable of running the very latest 3D games.
Other features of the N8 include a customisable homescreen so all your favourite applications need only be a single screen press away at all times, built-in mapping software, a secondary camera for video calling, stereo FM radio, digital compass, push email with a document viewer for working on the go, social networking and a multi-touch user interface.
To keep everything running smoothly, the N8 is equipped with a powerful ARM 11 680 MHz processor – making mulit-tasking on the go an absolute breeze.
More on the Nokia N8
As with most modern smartphones, the Nokia N8's impressive array of built-in functionality represents just a fraction of its appeal. This is down to the amazing range of applications that users can download. With everything from fun games to more practical apps on offer at Nokia's Ovi Store, N8 owners are effectively free to change what their phone can do on a daily basis.
And that's not all. Pre-installed on the handset is Nokia's Ovi Maps mapping software. This teams up with the N8's GPS support to ensure that the phone doubles as a fantastic satellite navigation device, offering turn by turn directions to locations in thousands of cities worldwide.
Just as handy is that the N8 can be interfaced with USB memory sticks and portable hard drives. In so doing, users can access files and potentially hugely expand their mobile's storage capacity.
