Nokia N900 details

The Nokia N900 is a technological tour de force that's more like a pocket computer than a mere mobile phone. With a great five megapixel camera, QWERTY keyboard and 32GB of memory, it's got everything you could want from a handset.

No device has ever blurred the lines between a pocket PC and a mobile phone quite as convincingly as the Nokia N900. It’s so powerful and so multi-functional that you may even be able to kiss goodbye to your netbook or laptop forever.

The incorporation of a slide out QWERTY makes text entry simple and is brilliant for composing lengthy emails. And just as handy is that because the N900 is home to a powerful ARM Cortex A8 processor and 1GB of dedicated application memory you’ll be able to multi-task with ease.

Owners also benefit from a brilliant five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED Flash and Geo-tagging. Plus, for a consummate and super-fast mobile internet experience, the N900 is equipped with a Mozilla web browser and HSDPA support.

Other features of this terrific truly next generation mobile communications device include a 3.5-inch touchscreen with built-in accelerometer, a customizable homescreen, expandable memory, photo-editing software, an FM radio, media player to keep you entertained while you’re on the go and GPS support for easy navigation no matter how unfamiliar the locale you find yourself in.

Owners will also be able to download a host of applications and games from the Nokia Ovi store, potentially allowing them to change the functionality of their phone daily.

More on the Nokia N900

The Nokia N900 is the first ever Nokia mobile phone to feature the company’s Maemo operating system – a platform that had previously been reserved for its internet tablets. As you might expect then, the N900 is a highly powerful converged device that blurs the lines between a pocket PC and a mobile phone.

This is most evident in the N900’s incredible multi-tasking capabilities. Its fast processor, the Maemo OS and dedicated application memory combine to make running apps and webpages simultaneously as smooth and fast as can be. This makes the N900 the perfect smartphone for making the most of your time and brings to an end the days of having to close one app before opening another.

In keeping with other recent Nokia phones in its prestigious high-end Nseries of handsets, the N900 boasts incredible built quality and a cutting-edge touchscreen. This harnesses user-resistive technology to ensure that accessing all your favourite features is simple, despite the amazing array of options on offer.

Reviews of the N900 praised its massive, richly colourful 3.5-inch display which gives an unsurpassed mobile internet and on the go entertainment experience. Testers also singled out the supreme usability, impressive call quality and massive onboard memory.

Amazing speed and perfect for playing games! Its 3.5 inches LCD plus full QWERTY keyboard makes it a perfect phone.

All of these are processed by 600 MHZ CPU plus Graphic Accelerator wich is absolutely nice for watching videos or playing games!

Nokia have done well with the N-series so far but N900 I can't add to the list. The shortage of applications send it back a generation. I would much rather recommend the N97

Great looking phone in the flesh. The N900 has had mixed reviews, but i've found it really easy to use and despite being quite big, fits in my jacket pocket no problem. Just waiting to get some apps for it now and I'll be well away. Battery life seems OK.
