Samsung Jet S8000 details

The touchscreen operated Samsung S8000 Jet matches the iPhone 3G S for speed. And it’s got a hugely impressive range of features too, including a brilliant camera and a lightning fast web browser.

According to Samsung, this is a handset for people who regard impatience as a virtue. Equipped with a hugely powerful 800MHz processor, its custom built for multi-tasking and allows you access functions simultaneously at super-fast speeds.

And the speed doesn’t stop there. Thanks to 3G connectivity the Samsung Jet lets you surf the web at the kind of speeds you’d expect from your home computer. Meanwhile, HSDPA support means that music and video downloads are completed in a trice, allowing you to enjoy movies at your leisure and in sparkling high definition on the large 3.1-inch touchscreen.

Elsewhere, the Samsung S8000 Jet includes a five megapixel camera, which is capable of taking great still and moving images and which comes with a full suite of additional imaging features such as autofocus, smile detection and digital zoom.

Other features of the Samsung S8000 Jet are a music player, a secondary camera for video calling, FM radio, a 3.5mm audio jack, handsfree speakerphone and an array of messaging options including MMS, SMS and email.

The phone is quad band, so can be used all over the globe, and has 2GB of internal memory. This can be boosted further by up to 16GB by adding a microSD card.

More on the Samsung Jet S8000

As detailed above, Samsung advertises the Jet mobile phone with the slogan "impatience is a virtue". It's not hard to see why. This is one of the fastest mobile phones ever seen and makes some so-called smartphones look positively sluggish. But it’s also got so much more to offer than just speed.

Well respected technology site Cnet was certainly impressed with the Samsung Jet. As well as praising its array of features, it also described it as having a “gorgeous” screen. Meanwhile, Tech Radar noted that the Jet boasted an “excellent camera” and was also wowed by the clear and bright display.

I am now on my second handset and about to take it back to change it for another model. The standby time seems to be only 10 hours max.

Like the phone a lot, it's all about the touchscreen! Also pretty easy to use even for a Nokia fan like myself.
