Who can help you switch your mobile?

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) oversees the regulation of financial products, and this covers mobile insurance.  uSwitch Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Service Authority.

What is mobile insurance?

Mobile insurance cover is offered with some phone deals and is insurance cover to protect your phone against theft, loss and damage. As with all insurance products, the terms and conditions of each policy vary widely. You are advised to always read the terms and conditions to understand what is and not covered with each deal.

We are regulated by the financial services watchdog

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulates some mobile phone insurance cover. When using the uSwitch.com mobile comparison and switching service you will be shown deals that include mobile insurance which is covered by the FSA and deals which have either no insurance cover or insurance cover that is not regulated by the FSA. The deals that are not covered by the FSA will not include insurance and the deals that are covered will include insurance.

The difference between these two types of deals is limited to the inclusion or exclusion of insurance and the process in which you can complain.

If you feel the matter has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you can ask for your case to be reviewed by uSwitch Ltd and a final decision will be made on behalf of the Managing Director.

If your query is regarding an FSA regulated product and you are still not satisfied with our responses, you can request the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your case. The Financial Ombudsman can be contacted at: South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR or emailed at enquiries@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

uSwitch is also authorised and regulated by the Financial Service Authority, and our registration number is 312850. This information can be checked on the FSA's register by visiting their website or by contacting them on 0845 606 1234.

Our FSA authorisation allows uSwitch.com to collect all relevant details from you if you choose to apply for a deal, and forward them to the selected provider. Your chosen provider will process your application and send you any relevant policy documentation. uSwitch.com will send you a confirmation email with details of the provider and deal you selected.
