LG logo hi res

Vodafone has this week confirmed the release of the Catwalk Collection of handsets, which have seen its own-brand phones given a natty makeover. Readers of our news section will know that they have come to market hard on the heels of LG’s Lollipop mobile phones, which are similarly colourful and fun-looking phones.

Thus far LG’s and Vodafone’s new models have yet to garner the kind of column inches that higher end phones have attracted. In truth, that’s probably because unlike, for example, the HTC Magic they’re fairly basic devices which lack touchscreens, GPS and a host of killer apps.

And yet I can’t help feeling LG and Vodafone’s new handset additions represent a smart move. That’s because thanks to their focus on good looks rather than high-end features they’ll have strong appeal for cash-strapped consumers who nonetheless still want a nice looking phone.

Even more auspicious for Vodafone’s Catwalk collection is that its cheapest model the 533 is priced at just £30. Watch them fly off the shelves.
