Motorola’s entry into the Android mobile phone market will closely resemble the HTC Hero and HTC Magic, it has been revealed.

According to Tech Radar, in keeping with HTC’s mobile phones that employ Google’s operating system the Motorola model will be home to a 528MHz processor and 256 of RAM.

The phone, which is apparently to be dubbed the Motorola Morrisson, will also feature a QWERTY keyboard, a five megapixel camera and a HVGA resolution screen.

Motorola has yet to confirm a UK release date but plans to launch the phone in the US during October to capitalise on the Christmas market.

Price points have also yet to be finalized but it is thought that the new mobile phone will be on sale for significantly less than Android mobile phones that are currently available.

News of Motorola's intentions comes as glut of Android mobiles are due to be launched over coming months, including models from Sony Ericsson, Acer, LG and BenQ.

Meanwhile, Samsung yesterday confirmed plans for a range of Android phones at budget prices to arrive between now and the end of 2010.
