SAMSUNG GALAXY LITE

The release of the Samsung Galaxy Lite i5700 is to be delayed until next year, as its manufacturer looks to maximise sales of the current edition of the Galaxy.

First announced earlier this year, the upcoming mobile phone had initially been scheduled to go on sale in the UK during October in order to capitalise on the Christmas market.

However, Samsung has now confirmed that the Android-powered handset will now not go on sale until some time in the New Year.

The reason for the delay has not been officially confirmed, but it is thought likely that the decision has been made to allow its predecessor the Samsung Galaxy i7500 the chance to entice buyers before another new phone in the Galaxy family is launched.

Running on Android 1.5, the Galaxy Lite’s feature range includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA support for fast downloads and a three-inch touchscreen.

Users will also benefit from pre-installed Google applications and a widget based home screen to allow them to customise the layout of their mobile phone.
