Apple has upped orders for iPhones in anticipation of massive demand for the handsets in the run up to Christmas.

According to a report from Digitimes, the Chinese manufacturers of the image sensors used in iPhone cameras are raising production by 17-20 per cent to cope with demand.

The news comes just ahead of the arrival of the iPhone 3G S on the Orange network in the UK this month. Currently, Apple handsets are exclusively available on O2.

Orange has yet to officially confirm the launch date, but a report from the Times earlier this week cited an unnamed industry source who claimed that the handset will go on sale on November 10th.

This has since been lent credence by an email sent on Monday to Orange customers who have registered their interest in buying the iPhone 3G S. The message said that pricing details and availability will be confirmed in a follow-up email to be sent within the next seven days.

Jonathan, did you even receive the email from Orange because nowhere in it does it say that pricing details and availability will be confirmed 'within the next seven days'?

All these sensationalism journalism making a BIG HOO HAA orange have not released any info on when the iphone shall be available. As Apple and Orange have a contract to keep things quiet. Not even store managers or shop workers know. Its ALL based on assumption as on Nov 10 2009 o2 contract with APple expires so make sense thats the release date. last email sent orange said '' We’re pleased to tell you that details about the arrival of iPhone will be ready very soon. We’ll be sending you another email in a week or so – please keep an eye out for it. This will tell you everything you’ll need to know about choosing a new handset and viewing our tariff options.

You can look forward to one of the best handsets on the market, as well as the UK’s biggest 3G network, covering more people than any other.

We will know before Jonathon even begins to copy and paste and sensationalise the next piece of news. JONATHON stop Googling and copying what all other people and idiots are saying..Knooob
