Samsung and Armani have collaborated for a new high-end mobile phone that teams fashion phone design with business handset functionality.

Making a personal appearance at the launch of the B7620, designer Giorgio Armani told attendees that he wanted the touchscreen phone to co-ordinate “perfectly with Giorgio Armani suits” and that it would “perfect for today’s managers”.

In keeping with the business focus of the Windows Mobile 6.5 powered phone, features include a document reader that allows users to view attachments created in all key Microsoft Office packages and a QWERTY keyboard for entering large amounts of text.

The B7620, which was previously codenamed the Samsung OLED, is expected to go on sale for around £700, will also feature a powerful 800Mhz processor, a 3.5-inch OLED screen, 8Mb of onboard memory and a five megapixel camera.

JK Shin, Executive Vice President at the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer, said: “This latest-generation mobile masterfully combines our experience in technology with a design from one of the world's best known designers and the functions offered by Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

“What's more, the Giorgio Armani-Samsung smartphone is a demonstration of our commitment to offering customers cutting-edge technology in our products, along with exclusive design and fashion.”
