The Sony Ericsson Satio 12 megapixel cameraphone will go on sale in the UK in just over a week’s time.
UK consumers will be able to get their hands on the camera phone from October 13th, with Vodafone offering the handset for free from £35 per month over a 24 month contract.
As well as a boasting a high grade camera with autofocus and flash, the Satio also features a huge 3.5-inch touchscreen, GPS and a media player.
Sony Ericsson's upcoming mobile phone will also offer HSDPA support for a fast web browsing experience, Wi-Fi and expandable memory via a microSD card slot.
First unveiled in February this year, the Satio is regarded as Sony Ericsson’s flagship mobile phone for 2009, as it looks to see of ever-stiffer challenges from the likes of LG and Samsung.
Nick Vautier, managing director of Sony Ericsson’s UK division, has previously described the new mobile phone a “game-changer” and has boldly predicted that it will “help return the company to profitability”.
