T-MOBILE PULSE

The T-Mobile Pulse has today become the first Android mobile phone to go on sale on pay as you go, as smartphones featuring Google’s operating system continue their march towards the mass market.

The Huawei-manufactured handset, which is exclusive to T-Mobile, is available to buy outright for £179.99. Alternatively, buyers can opt to get the Pulse for free on a monthly contract deal from just £20 per month.

In keeping with other Android phones, the Pulse comes with pre-installed Google applications - including YouTube, Gmail and GoogleMaps - and offers users the chance to download hundreds of apps from the Android Market.

Other features of the handset include GPS support, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and HSDPA for fast downloads and web access.

A 3.5-inch touchscreen is also housed within the Pulse, as is a powerful 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor to allow owners to use multiple applications simultaneously with minimum lag.

T-Mobile was first UK network to embrace the Android platform with the million selling G1 phone, which has since been followed by the similarly successful G2 Touch.
