NOKIA N900

The Nokia N900, touted by many as more like a pocket PC than a mobile phone, is officially going on sale in the UK on November 16th, reports suggest.

According to online news sources, the N900 will land in the UK on contract deals with Orange and O2 as of this date, with both carriers offering the phone for free with selected contract deals.

Features of the N900 include a powerful processor to allow users to access multiple applications simultaneously, a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5-inch touchscreen.

The slider mobile phone will be powered by Linux Maemo, making it the first Nokia phone to feature the company’s much-anticipated operating system. Previously, the platform has been employed solely on the company’s selection on Internet Tablets.

A successor to the N900 is reportedly already in development in the form of the N920.

This will apparently also feature Linux Maemo, as well as 32GB of memory and an ARM Cortex A8 processor.
