BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) has officially confirmed the forthcoming release of the BlackBerry Tour 9650 via its own Facebook group.
Interestingly, the post announcing the Tour 9650 was later removed by the group administrators, suggesting that there had been a slip-up, but it was already too late to retract the announcement.
The BlackBerry Tour 9650 will have a Wi-Fi connection and offers the same optical trackpad technology that can be found on the Bold 9700.
The Tour is expected to arrive in the US first, with Sprint and Verizon already committed to stocking the smartphone, according to sources cited online. Plans for a UK release have yet to be confirmed.
