Virgin Media has announced a series of very competitive price plans for the HTC Desire, including a market-leading deal for existing broadband bundle customers.

The basic offer available to every consumer is a £30 tariff which provides takers with 800 free anytime minutes, unlimited text and free mobile internet access on a minimum contract lasting 24 months.

However, existing Virgin Media customers, with digital television, cable broadband or home phone services, get a £5 monthly reduction in the cost of this tariff, putting it at £25 a month with exactly the same inclusive services.

Virgin Media will also give its existing customers £5 off the monthly cost of a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

A new set of SIM-only deals, starting from £10 a month, are also on their way and Virgin Media plans to give SIM-only customers free calls between one another in an attempt to increase its market share.

Not strictly the cheapest if it's only available to Virgin customers.
