IPhone Question Mark

A leaked Apple advert appears to reveal that the next-gen smartphone will be named the iPhone HD.

See the advert below

The spot, which surfaced on YouTube, shows an iPhone which has ditched the traditional styling completely, with a curved back plate.

It also seems to suggest that video calling will be a part of the package.

Most observers have treated the ad with a healthy dose of scepticism, as Apple would have to spend a lot more on the development of the next iPhone if it was to move away from the design which has changed little since 2007.

However, although the content of the video may well be an elaborate hoax, many are convinced that the next iPhone will not carry the 4G suffix, as this would lead consumers to believe that it will support 4G networks, which is unlikely.

Shaped like Sony Ericsson Vivaz!! Nice work, but this is light years away from what next gen iPhone would look like. Personally i don't like it.

There's no way Apple would release something this angular. It looks like the Atari Lynx.

Thank you, I'm so sick of everyone calling the next gen iPhone 4G, because like you said it will not be. But "iPhone HD", i'll buy that name.

And by the way whoever did this ad did an awesome job. I'd bet my iphone that it wasn't Apple - and if i'm wrong i'll just have to buy the new one.

That's quite a believable ad. But it obviously won't look like that.

Wasn't there a rumour that the new iPhone would essentially have a curved backplate to accommodate multi-touch tech from Apple's Magic Mouse? That would more than justify the shape change.

I hope it can't multitask!!! Apple did that for a reason. Better to have it do one thing really well then a whole bunch of things really badly.

Apple is about quality. When you can really multitask on a handheld then Apple will do it.
