A court battle over various patent infringements and counter-claims between Finnish manufacturer Nokia and the US-based iPhone creator Apple has been stalled by a judge.

A Delaware lawman enforced the ruling because there are many other interlinked cases that have to run their course before further action can be taken by either firm.

Apple and Nokia have been embroiled in US courts for months, during which time Apple has initiated a second lawsuit, also relating to patents, against Taiwanese manufacturer HTC.

The International Trade Commission (ITC), which operates in the US, is currently investigating all parties involved on multiple counts of copyright infringement.

The latest news seems to suggest that the legal system is having trouble processing all the cases simultaneously, as this is clearly an increasingly complex conflict.

It is not known when the suits will be resumed.

Nokia can afford to get embroiled in a legal morass with Apple. Not sure the same can be same for HTC, tho'.
