Nokia C5 smartphone officially unveiled

The Nokia C5 has finally emerged from the shadows, showing off its sleek bar design and Symbian S60 operating system in a series of official promotional shots.

Touted as a smartphone for people on a budget, the C5 teams a 2.2-inch screen with a standard keypad and 3.2 megapixel camera,

Nokia has also pre-installed its highly rated Ovi Maps mapping software for easy navigation, which is available to use free of charge.

A selection of social networking features are integrated into the C5, including a sensible level of Facebook compatibility, with status updates being delivered directly to owners' contact list.

A concrete release date for the C5 has not yet been set, but it is expected to appear between April and June this year, for the modest price of £122 when purchased on a pay as you go mobile phone deal.
