Google and Vodafone were known to be in partnership to bring the Google Nexus One to the UK and now fans of the smartphone can register to receive immediate notification when pre-orders are being taken.

Vodafone's website has been updated with a Nexus One link and by clicking it potential buyers can register their interest in the mobile.

As soon as Vodafone has a release date confirmed it will email anyone who signed up to let them know that they can place their order in advance.

The Nexus One has been available for UK customers over the internet for a while, but without network subsidies buyers will need a lot of cash upfront to cover the cost of the mobile.

Vodafone is not only set to offer the Nexus One, but also the HTC Desire, which has identical hardware and HTC's superior Sense interface, which makes it an attractive proposition for Android fans.

Is anyone actually still waiting for a Nexus One? The sales format has been the most epic of epic fails. And the phone itself has been superseded by about three phones from HTC.
