Google’s first-ever branded phone, the Nexus One has landed on Top 10 Mobile Phones on a range of monthly contract deals.

Android smartphone fans can pick up the handset for fre when they sign up to a two-year contract deal with Vodafone at £35 per month. This entitles them to 600 call minutes per month as well as unlimited texts and 1 GB of mobile internet and webmail allowance.

Standout features of the Nexus One include the latest 2.1 edition of Google’s Android operating system as well as a choice of thousands of free and paid-for applications from the Android Market online software store.

Meanwhile, a host of handy Google applications come pre-installed, including Facebook, Gmail and YouTube. The handset is also home to a five megapixel camera with smile detection and autofocus, a powerful 1GHz processor to enable users to open and use multiple applications simultaneously and a 3.7-inch, richly colourful touchscreen with a multi-touch user interface.

Vodafone is also bundling the handset with a 4GB memory card to allow buyers ample storage space for photos, music tracks and videos.

    Be interesting to see if sales improve due to the Nexus One's availability regular Vodafone contracts instead of buying direct from Google's improves sales.
