Owners of the HTC Legend will be pleased to hear that a firmware update for the smartphone is bringing compatibility with a number of key apps that were previously absent.

Popular Twitter app Twitdroid, social networking app Myspace Mobile, augmented reality app Layar and Google Goggles were among the many apps that were missing from the HTC Legend's Android Market, but the firmware update addresses these issues.

HTC has said that the main reason for these apps failing to be made available is because the Legend's camera was for some reason incompatible.

The update is downloadable over the air and is small enough that it is unlikely to result in hefty data charges for HTC Legend users.

The compatibility problem was apparently unique to European customers.

Goes to show that even HTC is prone to what shall henceforth be known as a case of 'the Sony Ericssons'. But even it's telling that HTC managed to get a fix up and ready quickly. That's more than can be said for glitch kings SE.
