Firefox version 1.1 has been launched for the Nokia N900, bringing new features to the Maemo-based smartphone.
The original version of Firefox for the handset was one of the first of its kind for mobile phone users, bringing desktop features to the small screen.
Version 1.1 of the browser for the N900 adds the ability to display web pages in portrait mode, which was a feature missing from the first version because the N900 is ostensibly a native landscape lover.
This allows for single-handed browsing, something that many N900 users will doubtless welcome.
The N900's side mounted volume rocker is now implemented in the Firefox browser, acting as a zoom key and the layout of the menus and interface buttons has been revamped to make it easier to use the Firefox browser.
A total of nine alternations have been made to version 1.1 of Firefox for the Nokia N900, although at the moment the release is still classified as being in beta testing.
