Orange will retain unlimited data plans for the iPhone 4, a leaked tariff sheet appears to reveal.

The carrier’s plans for the handset surfaced on Twitter in what is purported to be a wallchart photographed by an employee in its Tyneside offices.

Potential buyers have a range of 18 and 24-month contract options to choose from for both the 32GB and 16GB editions. Unlimited data will be on offer on all 24-month deals, with a 500MB cap applying on 18-month contracts.

Should the prices prove to be Orange’s actual offering rather than a hoax, the network could steal a march on rival carriers such as O2 who have introduced caps on mobile internet use.

The cheapest Orange monthly tariff is £25 per month over a 24-month contract, with an additional charge of £225 for the 16GB edition and £319 for the 32GB iteration. As well as unlimited data, this entitles users to 75 call minutes per month and 125 texts.

The phone is free on selected contracts, provided takers sign up to a £45 per month deal over 24-months. This includes 1,200 minutes and unlimited texts and data.

Orange has yet to confirm or deny the speculation and overtures from Top10.com for comment were met with radio silence.

O2 is currently the only UK provider to have broken cover with official iPhone contracts, with many in the tech fraternity expressing disappointment at the imposition of 500Mb per month usage caps.

Yesterday, a page on Vodafone’s site appeared to show its iPhone 4 prices and disclose that a 1024MB usage limit will be in place. However, the carrier has since claimed that this was a test page and the prices do not accurately reflect what it will be offering.

Much speculation surrounds 3’s entry to the market, with some analysts forecasting that its positioning in the UK market as a low-cost provider could see it undercut rivals.

I detect the black arts of PR here. If it's not I wouldn't want to be the Orange employee when he gets caught.

But it it's not, then Orange will destroy everyone for sales and O2 might as well throw in the towel.

No way, too dear. Would accept £200 and £280 (£300) max, but to go over the £300 mark is daylight robbery.

If true, I feel this is just orange misleading the public again. All current orange contracts say unlimited data but the small print states a 750Mb cap is in place under their fair use policy. So a bit underhand and at least the other carriers are being upfront with their offers (well O2 anyway)

@Fanboi but Orange are offering rubbish minutes and texts with their packages! Always have 75 texts and 125 mins? I can do that in a day, do you not agree?

Umm, not sure how you got this wrong but Orange have just released their tariffs (same as twitter image) and it clearly shows that the iPhone 4 is NOT free on the £45/Month tariffs, it actually shows £29 handset charge for the 16gb and £139 for 32gb.

@Nazaroth But these tariffs were pre-release and leaked/strictly hush-hush and off the record weren't they? I saw the photo and it did suggest that it was free from £45. It's a shame it's not, TBH. Still going with Orange, though - just because of their coverage, plus Orange Wednesdays.
