Nokia has announced the release of two special edition smartphones which cater to the needs of revellers heading to the V Festival this August.

The festival starts on the 21st of August and exclusive versions of the X6 and 5230 touchscreen media mobiles will be launched, complete with the telltale V suffix.

The additions that make these mobiles special include a V Festival app that includes all of the bands and events that will take place to help you schedule your time at the festival, together with dedicated GPS mapping covering the two different sites at which the festival is being held.

Virgin Media has understandably got exclusive access to these mobiles, with the X6V coming free with £20 pay monthly deals, whilst the 5230V is free on £15 pay monthly deals.

If you are already a Virgin Media customer you can knock £5 off the monthly price for both of the tariffs.

V Festival is pretty soulless. Not sure if there's anyone out there who loves it so much they want a V branded phone...
