Stock of the iPhone 4 in the UK is being squeezed, with most network providers now reportedly either sold out or are close to shipping their final units.

O2 is currently the only UK network with the iPhone 4 in stock at its high street stores, although it is following its rivals in making it clear to online shoppers that any orders they make will not be met with a handset delivered on the next working day.

Vodafone has acted quickly to set up an order system to provide users who buy online now with an iPhone as soon as they come back into stock. The network said that the backlog of orders was being eased after it took delivery of a shipment of iPhone 4s.

Tesco, which has the iPhone 4 listed as out of stock in store and online, says that it has no idea when a similar delivery will arrive and network provider 3 has yet to get its hands on any new iPhones whatsoever, the Telegraph reports.
