A dancing zombie that replicated the look and dance moves of Michael Jackson's Thriller video has been removed from iPhone game Plants vs Zombies after the dead singer's estate made complaints.

The zombie in question was a special enemy that called upon the assistance of its fellow undead friends to attack the player whilst twirling in disco lights and looking very much like the popster in his skeletal latter-day incarnation.

Pop Cap was asked to remove the character on the grounds that it bore too much of a resemblance to his seminal music video, even down to the red jacket and undead backing dancers.

Developer Pop Cap's casual tower defence title is available on multiple platforms and shot to the top of the iPhone's download charts when it launched for Apple's smartphone earlier in the year.
