Samsung has used an advert for the Galaxy S smartphone to hit back at Apple after it suggested that the Korean firm produced mobiles with iPhone 4-esque antenna issues.

The advert very clearly alludes to the fact that the iPhone 4 will drop bars of reception when held in a particular way - now immortalised for evermore as the 'death grip'.

The ad has the simple tagline of 'Hello', but the Ls of this word are made of four full bars of signal, subtly hinting that the Galaxy S will give the user great reception no matter how it is held.

Apple caused controversy in the mobile industry when founder Steve Jobs listed major manufacturers which purportedly also had mobiles with faulty antenna systems that would result in dropped calls.

Samsung has received critical acclaim for the Galaxy S, with some proclaiming it to be the best smartphone that the firm has ever created.
