The Samsung Galaxy S has sold 200,000 units just ten days after launching in South Korea.

Network provider SK Telecom says that 90 per cent of new Galaxy S owners are satisfied with their smartphones. A spokesperson for the firm said that this was due to both the hardware and the value of the price plans.

"Considering the trend, strong sales will continue in July,'' said SK Telecom's Cindy Kang.

The Galaxy S has a four inch Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz processor and a five megapixel camera which can shoot video in 720p HD resolution. Android 2.1 powers the handset and as with the iPhone 4, it is under a centimetre thick.

Samsung is aiming to ship ten million Galaxy S mobiles before 2010 ends and to achieve this it has garnered the support of 110 international network providers, including T-Mobile.
