A new application for the BlackBerry range of smartphones has been launched to help Brits who are heading to party island Ibiza find out about the best gigs and events.

The Ibiza Rocks app offers local listings of everything of note taking place at the likes of Space and Privilege, along with reviews of gigs and clubs and hints about how to make the most of your stay.

Information is updated by a team of reporters based on the island to keep the app as up to date as possible.

Shane Murray, a spokesperson for Ibiza Rocks, said: "For the last five years we've been redefining Ibiza for a new generation and a big part of that is looking at innovative ways to expand the Ibiza Rocks experience for our audience - developing a BlackBerry app ticks all the boxes."

The app is free to download and use, but if you are roaming abroad make sure you take note of any data charges that can apply for network usage incurred to avoid being hit with the kind of hefty charges that make Ibiza clubs' drink prices look like a snip.

This is a collaboration with RIM right? So it's basically another sorry attempt to make BlackBerrys seem cool. For the last time: BlackBerrys will never be cool. So please stop trying to make them appeal to 'da yoof'. It's embarrassing.
