HTC could be about to roll out its revamped Sense user interface to current-generation handsets, a Tweet from HTC Spain suggests.

Announced last week alongside the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z smartphones, the new iteration of Sense reportedly massively speeds up handset, cutting the time it takes them to boot up to 12 seconds.

Also included in the all-singing, all-dancing improved custom skin is a unified inbox for keeping on top of messages, plus the option to sync content with a computer.

These pretty stellar features could now be coming to all phones running the 2.2 version of Android, if a Tweet from Spanish HTC representatives discovered by the good coves at Andronica is to believed.

Should that be the case, owners of the Desire and Legend can both expect an upgrade when Android 2.2 finally lands on them. Or at least they can so long as their carrier manages to execute it without any glitches…
