Apple has begun rolling out the new version of its smartphone operating system, bringing with it a host of rather natty new features.

iPhone 4 owners with the updated software will now be able to upload HD videos using Wi-Fi networks and take better snaps with the addition of High Dynamic range technology.

Also new to the latest iPhone and the iPhone 3G and 3G S is full integration with the Game Center multi player social gaming hub, plus TV rentals via Apple TV and access to the music-based social network Ping.

The update will also fix persistent Bluetooth and proximity sensor bugs reported by users, although alas it won’t do anything to ameliorate those antenna problems.

To get the update, you’ll need to be running iTunes 10. Then you can simply plug in your smartie, accept the download when you’re prompted and you’re good to go.
