The Nokia E7 will be officially unveiled next Wednesday at the annual Nokia World Conference in London, it has been reported.

According to sources cited by Reuters, the latest in Nokia’s range of enterprise focussed smartphones will be launched during a keynote speech from Chief Executive Officer Olli-Pekka Kallsvuo.

Specifications are yet to be officially confirmed, but persistent online rumours suggest it will be home to a four-inch touchscreen display and will feature a kick slider form factor.

The handset is also believed to run the latest iteration of Nokia’s operating system Symbian 3, despite earlier suggestions that it would feature the Maemo OS which has hitherto been restricted to the Finnish phone giant’s range of tablets.

The event is reportedly also likely to see Mr Kallsvuo reveal availability details for the Nokia N8 – the much-delayed new addition to the NSeries line of high-end smartphones.

Standout features of the N8, which first surfaced back in April, include a 12 megapixel camera with HD recording and Carl Zeiss optics, a 3.5-inch capacitive, AMOLED touchscreen and 16GB of onboard memory.

The big news we don't know about will be about apps. Nokia has got to do something to get that revenue stream going or it's in a proper mess. If they don't they miight as well just give up and focus on markets in developing countries.

"Apps" are just American hype. How much revenue does Google make with "Apps"? Or HTC, or Samsung? Just peanuts, if even that ! Are they even recovering their costs ??

How much revenue does Apple make with "Apps"? No one knows. But everyone knows they got to share it with the operator for sure, causing that enormous data load that forces operators to huge CAPEX to run service, on flat fee data rate customer contracts.

Nokia has OVI service. Look for "Apps" there.

PS. Nokia's operating system has numerous features as STANDARD that must be purchased as extra "Apps" in iPhone.
