The iPhone 4 is a triumph of minimalism. But one Australian businessman wasn’t having that. So he commissioned Brit craftsman Stuart Hughes to go to work on diamond encrusted, dexlue editions.
The result is two, retina-scorching handsets worth a wallet-chastening £5 million. That’s each, natch.
So what did our unnamed mogul get for his money? Well, for a start the handsets are home to 500 individual cut diamonds – most of which are wrapped around the devices’ antennas. And sitting on top of the home buttons are a single cut 7.4 carat dazzler and another 8 carat one.
And the Apple logo on the back? Of, course that’s had the diamond treatment too, with 53 of them nestled on top of a rose gold plating.
Hughes told the Daily Mail: "It was a fantastic challenge and I am really pleased with the end result - the phones look superb.
“Phones are so popular at the moment and this is the ultimate design for one. It was a very exciting project.”
For the record, we're not sold on these monstrosities. Remember, people: less is more.
