T-Mobile will be rolling out Android 2.1, AKA Éclair, to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and its Mini Pro QWERTY keyboard variant by the end of November.

The carrier confirmed plans to deliver the operating system update in this via its support forums and has pledged to notify customers by text message when it’s ready to go.

T-Mobile stated: “The update is scheduled for release by the end of November and will be available as a direct download from Sony Ericsson’s website.

“If you own an X10 or X10 Mini Pro we will be sending you a text message to let you know when the update has been released and we will also announce it on the forums and our Twitter support channel.”

Features that the upgrade brings to Sony’s Android efforts include interactive live wallpapers and extra homescreens to give you more space to arrange your widgets and shortcuts.

You’ll also find a new look app launcher, a speedy thumnail-based navigation system and much slicker voice to text typing.

I hardly think another 2 weeks is going to be a problem. Grow up - there are many more important things in the world than a firmware update :)

I think it's really childish to abandon Sony Ericsson just for an update. I don't think anyone is suffering from having to wait a few weeks extra for an upgrade. There are far worse things to go without in the world like food and water.
