Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 owners have been told to remove updates for the Android Market, after a slew of owners reported problems accessing the new, improved version of Google’s app store.

In the wake of the revamped market’s unveiling, Xperia X10 owners took to the phone maker’s Facebook page en masse to report issues updating, downloading and installing new apps to their handsets.

Sony Ericsson’s somewhat unsatisfactory response was to advise those affected to uninstall the updates. However, as any fule know, the problem will simply reoccur when the Market auto-updates, leaving owners stuck in a Groundhog Day-style loop of frustration.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Xperia X10 owners have got the short end of the stick when it comes to updates.

While other handset owners are already enjoying Android 2.2 and looking forward to 2.3, AKA Gingerbread, imminently, X10 users were stuck on 1.6 until very recently.

In November, SE and UK networks finally got around to pushing out 2.1 to the best-selling phone – the best part of a year after Google first made it available. The delay has been attributed to compatibility problems with the company’s UX custom skin.

It is not only Sony Ericsson, it is not only Android. It is both of them. Flip'n Flop.

This phone is utter rubbish. Fiddly OS, poor battery life and you can't sync with a laptop without going through a 3rd party server. Why?!!!
This phone is regressive - Android sucks - you can't even copy and paste. Don't buy one.
