Manomio has unveiled a Commodore Amiga emulator for the idevices, offering young smartphone gamers a chance to see what their dads used to excited about way back when.

Check out the emulator in action in the clip below

The Amiga emulator, which will feature support for keyboard, mouse or joystick controls, and is still very much a work in progress right now. But a clip from Touch Arcade reveals that it’s already looking all that and a bag of chips.

And the line-up of potential titles isn’t to be sniffed at either. Not least because negotiations are already underway with Archer Maclean and Bitmap Brothers of Speedball and Xenon-fame to secure rights to their games.

Manomio has also reportedly already inked a deal with Cinemaware, which will please fans of It Came From the Desert and swords and scandals caper Defender of the Crown no end.

Touch Arcade stated: "While it's true that a few of the games that I tried glitched at some point, the vast majority ran perfectly and buttery smoothly on my iPhone 4.

“I'm talking about totally accurate sound, flawless graphics, glass smooth animation.”
