Snaps of what is purported to be the next smartphone in the BlackBerry Curve range have surfaced, in the second major BlackBerry handset leak in as many days.

Provisionally dubbed the Curve Apollo, the smartie features a candybar form factor and packs everything into a case just 11mm thick. In news unlikely to surprise anyone, it’ll run BlackBerry OS 6.1 out of the box, and is home to a spec sheet that places it in firmly in the mid-range bracket. Think: five megapixel camera with flash, 480x2360 HGVA display and the usual array of connectivity options, including WiFi, 3G HSPA and Bluetooth 2.1.

UK carriers and price points are yet to be confirmed. But if BGR is to believed it’ll be an “aggressively priced” number pitched at the burgeoning market of young ‘uns getting onboard with BlackBerrys for Messenger.

The Curve Apollo is the second phone to leak from the Research in Motion stable this week. Yesterday, details and photos emerged of BlackBerry Dakota – a candybar touch and type smartie with a 2.8-inch VGA display, HD video recording, tethering and a physical QWERTY keyboard.
