It didn’t take long but it appears that the first, potentially major flaw with Google Nexus S and/or Gingerbread 2.3 has surfaced, which involves the Nexus S shutting down during calls longer than three minutes.
A user named WestindiesKING reported the problem on the Google support forum. Google has already admitted that it is real and said: “we've successfully reproduced this issue and are in the process of investigating with Samsung."
Although the problem is restricted to the Nexus S, it wouldn’t be fair to jump to conclusions about Samsung’s fault here since the Nexus S is the only handset currently in market with Gingerbread on board. So it may as well be an issue with Gingerbread itself. Suffice to say, we have tested a Nexus S ourselves and managed to hold a conversation for much longer than three minutes with no sign of it giving up.
Those who have suffered the glitch can expect a remedy soon, what with Nexus S being Google’s baby and all. However, it might delay the release of Gingerbread to other handsets, so there’s that side of the coin to consider too.
