INQ has announced two Android powered, Facebook-focussed smartphones, ending months of speculation that the company has been collaborating with the social networking giant.

The INQ Cloud Touch and Cloud Q homescreens are dominated by a Facebook overlay on top of Android 2.2, with users able to see updates, wallposts and Places check ins at all times. They can also make calls simply by tapping their chums’ Facebook photos.

Arriving in the UK in April at Carphone Warehouse, the Cloud Touch features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a five megapixel camera with autofocus, plus the Spotify and Swype touch typing apps pre-loaded.

The Cloud Q, due for release at some stage during the third quarter, features a near-identical spec sheet but houses a smaller 2.6-inch touch-enabled display and adds a physical QWERTY keyboard for fast text entry.

Henri Moissinac, head of Facebook's mobile division, told the Financial Times: “In 2010 we invested a lot in putting Facebook inside the address book – on iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows phones – and also in a lot of touchpoints – [like] notifications, the camera. INQ is taking it to the next stage: the homescreen.”

Released back in 2008, INQ’s debut handset the INQ1 was named the best phone for Facebook by none other than Mark Zuckerberg.
