Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman & txt pro unveiled

Sony Ericsson (SE) has lifted the lid on two new feature phones, as it seemingly remembers that there might be life outside Android after all.

First up is the Mix Walkman phone, the USP's of which are a karaoke function that lowers the volume of the vocal track so you can trill along with your favourite platters and a so-called Zappin’ key that enables musos to preview the chorus of the next track.

Elsewhere, though, it’s mostly business as usual for a mid-range SE number, with a spec sheet that includes a three-inch touchscreen, a 3.2 megapixel snapper and built-in Twitter and Facebook apps - presumably to snare the teen market.

The txt pro (lower case nomenclature wackiness courtesy of the manufacturers) takes the social networking aspect a mite further.

That spells a physical QWERTY keyboard for tapping out statuses and updates and SE's Friends app that enables users to add their five best friends and check their Facebook and Twitter activity at a glance.

Other features include the same 3.2 megapixel camera and three-inch screen as the Walkman Mix handset.
