T-Mobile has pushed out a software update to Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) for the Motorola Defy, breathing a dose of new life into Moto’s toughphone.
Available to download now, the operating system bump for the handset, which shipped with the 2.1 version of Google’s platform, adds a host of new features.
Among these is tethering, which allows you to use your smartie as a de facto wireless mobile broadband dongle to get online with other 3G internet-enabled devices.
Also landing with 2.2 is a revamped Google search bar, Flash support for a better mobile web browsing experience and the option to store apps on your microSD card.
On top of that, there are a host of performance enhancements so your kit will run more smoothly and some UI tweaks.
Touted as a “life-proof” handset, the Defy is water and dust-resistant and rocks a robust 3.7-inch screen Gorilla Glass screen. It’s also home to a five megapixel snapper and expandable memory of up to 32GB via microSD card support.
