LG Optimus Black Windows Phone 7 leaked

LG may be readying a new Windows Phone 7 version of its Android powered Optimus Black smartie, leaked spy shots suggest.

Unveiled on Slovakian blog 3G Centrum, images of a handset that looks remarkably similar to the original Optimus Black have been revealed, running what appears to be a current build of Windows Phone 7.

It’s not clear whether or not the handset is indeed new or just an existing Optimus Black running a ported version of WP7. But it wouldn’t surprise us the least if LG decided to use existing hardware for two platforms, following news that Samsung is working on a new Galaxy S2 handset with Microsoft’s OS on board.

The use of similar hardware could simply be a way to reduce the costs of supporting multiple platforms and perhaps make life a little easier for consumers to choose a new kit based on their preferred OS rather than specs.

Funny. Not sure this is the sort of support that Microsoft wants - basically repackaging an existing fone. Not exactly a hot device is it? When the specs might be six motnhs old.
