The Nokia X7 will land on Three later today, offering UK buyers a chance to get on board with the new iteration of the phone maker’s Symbian operating system.

The Symbian Anna-powered handset is likely to be available for free on contract deals of £25 or above, in line with pre-order pricing announced by T-Mobile and Vodafone.

Dubbed the "ultimate multi-media device", the X7 offers a four-inch SuperAMOLED display of the sort that made Samsung's Galaxy S such a doozie for enjoying videos and movies on the go, plus four external speakers for a rich, full sound.

Also on board is an eight megapixel rear-mounted snapper with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recording, expandable memory of up to 32GB via microSD support, integrated GPS and the usual array of connectivity options.

Unveiled back in April, Symbian Anna features revamped, redesigned icons, a new version of Ovi Maps with improved search and new public transport routes, a web browser reputedly four times faster than those on current Symbian kits and an enhanced virtual keyboard.

Nokia started bumping back-cat phones to Anna over the last few days. Handsets in line for update love include the E72 business blower, the ageing N8 and lower-end kit such as the C7 and C6-01.
