Official-looking images of the Samsung Galaxy S2 in white have surfaced online, proving once and all that making a white edition of your best-selling smartphone need not take the best part of a year (eh, Apple?).
The re-sprayed S2 is due to go on sale August 15th, according to SIM free smartphone specialist Expansys, which now boasts an actual snap of the handset instead of the placeholder that alerted us to its existence yesterday.
Other than the new hue, the S2 is unchanged from the any-colour-as-long-as-it’s-black version. But given that it’s one of the best and, indeed best-selling, Android phones so far, that’s no bad thing.
That means it rocks Android 2.3 (aka Gingerbread) out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz custom user interface slathered over the top and is powered by a brawny dual core processor that keeps everything running smoother than a white-suited Don Johnson circa 1985.
The five million-selling handset is also home to an eight-megapixel camera with HD video recording, a secondary 1.3-megapixel snapper for video calls and a Super AMOLED Plus, 4.3-inch touchscreen of the kind that’s now a hallmark of high-end Sammy kits.
